I know. I don't need one.

Right now I am thoroughly obsessed with Jersey Cows. I want one. There needs to be a jersey cow grazing on the 21 acres and a snake ranch right now. I mean, NOW.

Why a Cow? --- I don't know.

Why a Jersey Cow? --- Because the one at the zoo is fantastic.

What do Jersey Cows look like?

What is my fav part about Jersey Cows? --- Their noses!!

So yeah, I want one. Sue me - or better yet, buy me a cow.

Thank You Follow-Up

I showed Mom the "Thank Yous" link. She said she wondered if something special happened when they got to 1,000,000. I suggested the idea of putting the computer on mute and letting it go. So, at 2:30 she mentioned they were up to 105,978 'thank yous' and indicated that she should have put a timer on to figure out how long it took to get to 1,000,000. I suggested doing some math. So...

They say 'Thank You' about 700 times in 1 minute, This to get 1,000,000 it would take 1,428.57 minutes (23.8 hours). So, if you decide the same trick set it, and forget it!

Free Money

I love free money. Lowe's Home Improvement has again given it to me. :-)

So, for them I have some Some Thank Yous.

Justin and I went into Lowe's yesterday to research the 'build our vanity' project for the new house. The only thing I planned to buy was the sink for the bathroom so we could have it for measuring & insipration purposes. Before I knew it we had decided to try and just get everything for the bathroom. The cart got full so we ended up with one of the palatte carts - it was full too. There was the sink, faucet, water heater, toilet, towel & toilet paper hooks, bathroom lights, and that was probably about it.

Come checkout I knew it would be a heavy tab, but we needed all the stuff, so may as well go ahead and get it. While waiting in line Justin and I discussed payment options and as we went to pay the cashier said, "you have a Lowe's card?" I responded affirmatively. So, she proceeded to tell us about a new project program they have. It is called the Lowe's Project Card. Basically you can open up a 6 month project window of intrest free credit when you spend $1000. Anything else you purchase on the project card during that 6 months is still interest free until the project window closes. As long as you have the card you can again and again puchase $1000 of products and open a 6 month window, so it is not like a special promotion or anything.

As a result we ended up with 3 ceiling fans and some of our outdoor lights in addition to all the bath stuff. Needless to say, the Jetta was VERY full. Still is for that matter. When we go out to the land tomorrow we are going to drop some of the things off.

This weekend... got to finally get the gate installed on the land. We have been putting it off. We also have to get 44 cement blocks to finish up a few places around the house. (More free $$) Lori is also suppose to be coming up tomorrow. It will be nice to show her all the progress on the house. Jeremy might come with her too. Sunday Justin and i are having lunch with my old friend Carlo. It will be nice to see him.

But, better go - have work to do.

This is bad ass.

OMG, OMG, OMG!

"Turkey" Tactical Response and Combat Enforcer

On other front... the house is coming along. Feels like things are moving a bit slow, but that is not because we are not doing anything (I use the term 'we' loosely.)
Things that have been happening...

- Roof is ordered
- Stairs are ordered
- Plumbing roughed in
- HVAC roughed in
- Electrician scheduled for Monday
- Walls framed in
- Decision made on how to cover the cement blocks on the inside of the house
- Some light fixtures purchased
- Dispersement check in

Justin and I are working on a checklist of what has to get done on the house - will post soon.

Byee for now.

Good Weekend

Saturday rained all day, but it was cool (in terms of temperature) and with the roof on the house we are able to work and stay mostly dry - which is nice. We got the last of the beams and posts set for the loft, the loft window installed and close to half of the flooring done in the loft.

On Sunday we took the dogs out to the land. Squig immediately pulled his collar off and bolted. Justin quickly responded, "Well, at least he does not have his tags on. That way if someone finds him they can't fine us." I thought that was a good point. Five minutes later the dog walks up like everything is cool. I put his collar back on him and off he went, but he always came back after a few minutes. So, I guess that is good. While there Justin and I picked up trash around the house, he mowed & then I swept up inside.

Things are looking good. I am really pleased.

Sunday morning was beautiful by the way - did you get a chance to enjoy the clear blue sky & mid seventies temps?

Funny story:
An un-named friend had a weird rattling in his/her car. After much frustration, on the way to the store one evening he/she frantically searched the entire car (while driving) in order to track down the culprit. What was it? A beer in the glovebox. Unopened. Go figure.

From old Friend

I guess you would call Ms. Groves and old friend...either way, this is funny.

Wal-Mart does it all!

One day, in line at the company cafeteria, Joe says to Mike behind
him, "My elbow hurts like hell. I guess I'd better see a doctor."

"Listen, you don't have to spend that kind of money," Mike replies.

"There's a diagnostic computer down at Wal-Mart. Just give it a urine sample and the computer will tell you what's wrong and what to do about it. It takes ten seconds and costs ten dollars . . . A lot cheaper than a doctor."

So, Joe deposits a urine sample in a small jar and takes it to Wal-Mart.

He deposits ten dollars, and the computer lights up and asks for the urine sample. He pours the sample into the slot and waits. Ten seconds later, the computer ejects a printout:

"You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water and avoid heavy activity. It will improve in two weeks. Thank you for shopping @ Wal-Mart."

That evening, while thinking how amazing this new technology was, Joe began wondering if the computer could be fooled. He mixed some tap water, a stool sample from his dog, urine samples from his wife and daughter, and a sperm sample for good measure.
Joe hurries back to Wal-Mart, eager to check the results. He deposits ten dollars, pours in his concoction, and awaits the results.

The computer prints the following:

1. Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener. (Aisle 9)
2. Your dog has ringworm. Bathe him with anti-fungal shampoo. (Aisle 7)
3. Your daughter has a cocaine habit. Get her into rehab.
4. Your wife is pregnant. Twins. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer.
5. If you don't stop playing with yourself, your elbow will never get better!

Thank you for shopping @ Wal-Mart

So, while I shop at wal-mart I do not do it ask often as I used too. Part of me things that their existence is good, but part of me thinks it is really the end of opportunities for small business owners. All depends on which day you ask me.

Roof - Check

Yippee!! The roof is all framed in. It looks great. I am really pleased. Dad also started framing in the bathroom & other walls today. Progress is so nice!

Meeting with the HVAC guy tomorrow to do a walk through and the plumbing is getting roughed in next week, the HVAC should too for that matter. All very exciting!

We are picking up the shower on Friday to carry it out to the land. We also have to grab the valve for that. Not sure what it is though...

Dashboard Confessional on Absence

I guess that is kind of a Wheel of Fortune thing... I was trying to convey that this post is about "Dashboard Confessional" and "Confessional on Absence"

Dashboard Confessional
Yes - we say DC last nice in Myrtle Beach - HOB to be exact. Great show although the openers (Ben Lee & Say Anything) were less than impressive. Chris Caraba (sp?) - the lead of DC says that the most recent album took so long because he wanted to make sure it was good. Personally, I think he spent most of the time between albums working on his voice. I don't mean to insinuate that it was bad before, but his range has gotten even better. I was quite impressed with his stamina at such high octaves. VERY good show. The overall entertainment value that he provides has also gone up. He is more of a performer now, but still a great musician.

We went to the show with Karl & his tigre' Autumn. We had dinner at HOB before the show and were able to snaq some sweet bar stools in the music hall. Think one of my favorite parts of the show was when Chris said "You better listen, I am jacked up on Mountain Dew." (the later portion of that phrase being a quote from the quite funny Will Ferrell movie - Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby [which Justin and I saw twice this past weekend].

The show closed with 'Hands Down' which is definitely one of my fave DC songs. Only problem is that when a new album comes out the artists play the new music and not as many of the old songs - which is this case I really love.

Confessional on Absence
I have just been really busy. With the house, work, and guitar hero. (Not that the last one is a really good reason.)

The house is coming well. Justin and I will actually be heading out there soon to see progress that the sub-crew is making on framing the roof. (we hired a guy to do it because the roof is so steep) All the logs are stacked (and have been for awhile). The loft is framed in, and if we go according to schedule, the electric, hvac, and plumbing will be roughed in next week. We will also be able to order the metal for the roof. :-)

Work has been stressful, if you are around me you know it because I am sure you have heard. Things look like they may be getting better, so I have a relatively positive outlook on that.

Guitar Hero is a game that kicks ass. I like it a lot. :-)

Gotta get back to work though. :-)
