Memorial Day Weekend

As stated, Justin and I headed to Flo town on Froday evening. Gohan went with us. Justin got to swim that evening and Gohan got to romp in the ditch. Needless to say, they were both happy. Saturday, we headed to a cookout in honor of my cousin TJ that just graduated from High School and turned 18. I really hope he makes some good decisions soon. He is thinking about the Coast Guard, and I think that would be a really good thing for him. If he will do it. Good Luck T - I know you can do anything if you put your mid to it!

After the cookout we had a "Surprise Party" for Justin's birthday. I put it in quotes because it turned out to me more like a surprise visit from his mom and brother, but you know - it turned out ok. And I am really glad to see Lori is feeling better. She was keeping me pretty worried.

Sunday we were suppose to get up and go fishing, but it was raining - so that didn't happen. We piddled around and celebrated Dad and Justin's birthdays, as well as mine. Thank you Mom, Dad, Grandma(s), and Lori for my presents. :)

After that they day sort of went down hill - kind of. We met up with Jeremy and Sarah Jane and headed to Lake Wateree for some good old boating. We did really well. Justin and Jeremy went tubing and I was about to until we realized something was wrong with the boat. Won't say what, I will let Justin talk about it on his site if he wishes. We did get to meet a really nice drunk guy though. As a result we missed a baseball game. All in all it was a learning experience though!

So, today is an official GraySail holliday, but justin and I went ahead and came in to take care of some things. We might re-arrange the week and take a day Friday instead - that way we can spend the day on the lake. Big storms are suppose to be coming in soon - which is bad. We couldn't go out on the lake anyway.

What to watch?

Fantasia won - yeah. :) I was right. Unfortunately, now that Idol and 24 are over - I am not sure what I am going to watch on TV. I did find out that a new season of Joe Schmoe will be coming on June 15th. So that will be nice!

Kind of in a transition period here at work. My part of the Moore School project is pretty much over, which is good and bad. I just finished up a big proposal this week and hopefully we will hear something about it soon. I think GS is competing against 5 other firms. I am also preparing to start a new internal project - SECX. We have all the ground work laid, so I have to start mocking out all the drawings so a prototype can be built. Levi is the main guy on this project. It will be nice to work with him - we have not worked closely on a projec yet, and he has been working for us for about 3 years now. (I can't believe it's that long). I am also hoping that we will soon be able to re-focus some attention on Enriching Reminders (another internal project). Hoke and I are also planning to spend some time trying to cultivate some new data clients (like PGBA).

Justin and I are heading to Florence tomorrow afternoon. Gohan will be going with us. It will be nice to see Mom and Dad. We have all been so busy that I really have not gotten to see much of them lately.

As I am sure you have noticed - I have a new design for my site. I accidentally switched to a blogger template, and I kinda like it. I am working on making the transition between this front page and my non-blogger pages a little more seamless. Not sure how long it will take though.

So, have a good one. I gotta go!

Idol Finals...My Prediction

Fantasia - maybe. Both are pretty darn good. Problem is - this year's "American Idol" song just is not written for a white girl to sing. (no offense) So, Diana was kind of at a disadvantage.

Birthday week is coming! :) Justin & Dad on Sat. and me on Thurs. :) Yeah!

Long Time Gone

So, been a long time gone. It's sad. I know. lot been going on. Bought a boat - a Fabuglas. Check justin's site for more info on it. Went to the NASCAR Nextel Cup All Star race on Saturday. Had a blast!!! :) Thank you Katie and Brandon for asking us to go.

Hey Ms. Lori - hope you are enjoying your new computer. Heard you have been sick. Hope you feel better. Happy I have updated?

Idol StuffI know - I have been out of it and I missed a week of Idol stuff, but you know I would have picked it right. I am looking forward to tonight. It will be interesting to see who wins. :)

Work has been really busy. Justin just finished putting together a fat nasty flash presentation to go with a proposal we sent out. It was for the Midlands Convention, Sports, and Tourism authority. I hope we get the gig.

Well, gonna get back to work.

"What is going on?"

Ok, so that is really a quote from the loveable Matt Kennedy Gould (the star of Joe Schmoe a show that was on Spike TV), but I am applying it to the oh so famed American Idol, which I am coming to hate.

Latoya and Fantasia were in the bottom. I just dont get it. I mean, I get half of it - but why not Jasmine. I have heard that E! is doing a special, American Idol: The true Hollywood story, where they will dish out some of the dirt behind the show.

I guess I really dont have any room to complain. I doubt my one vote for Latoya would have made the difference, but still. WAIT - what am I worried about, she is still going to get a deal. It will probably make news today. We have not heard the last from her, and we will definitly not "rain on her parade."

Getting to work now... love u all!

A Post

Hey! Been super busy recently, sorry for not posting. We did Moore School training and prototype demonstration yesterday. It went pretty darn well I think. We have another training session on Thursday afternoon, but it is for the webmasters over there. That will be a lot more laid back. Yesterday was sort of formal. Hoke, Justin, Tate, Geniese, and I were all there wearing kaki bottoms and graysail shirts. Looked pretty spiffy if you asked me.

After finishing up at Moore School (about 4:30) Justin and I headed home, Geniese came over because the CD changer in her car was acting up. Justin fixed it for her. I was proud of him. So, we watched Idol.... It was disco night and it is down to just girls. If Jasmine doesnt get voted off tonight I might just stop watching. No, that is a lie - I would keep watching. I think the other 3 did wonderful last night. I am just not a big fan of that genre of music. If I had to pick the bottom 2 (if that is what they will be doing) - I would have to go with Jasmine and ?????? ummmm Fantasia. I think - I dont know. We will see.

Justin has been feeling pretty cruddy the past few days. He is sleeping in right now. I am going to go get him around lunch time. Hopefully he will be feeling better. Because he feels bad he has not been sleeping well (=lots of snoring when he is asleep and much tossing when he is not) so, I have been loosing some sleep comfort as well. Might hit the guest bedroom tonight so he can have the whole bed to recoup.

Scooting for now....Gobble Gobble

Life

I accidentally neglected to identify who I thought would get volted off last night, and as it turns out they only did the bottom two, not the bottom three. Either way, I had George and Jasmine pinned. I am sad that George got voted off though. Jasmine really needs to go next. After that - things are going to get hairy. Diana, Latoya and Fantasia are all pretty dang good. So, we shall see what happens.

Work is going pretty well. I am almost forced into taking a break from the Moore School stuff right now because when I came back from lunch Hoke was heading out the door and his CMS server is off, so I dont have access to what I need to work on. Bummer. -- Looks like he might be back now though. So, that is good! :-)

I think we pretty much have all the yard work done now though. I am really happy!

Gonna return to work.

Hey Caroline - I know you are watching... :-)

Last night was great. It was really nice to see Ryan and Caroline. After dinner, which turned out suprisingly well, we all watched American Idol. (predictions below) It was grand. They even brought their puppy dog, Lou, to visit with Gohan. The two of them got along quite well. I know Gohan enjoyed it.

After they left Justin and I watched 24 - that show is SO intense. THere are only 3 episodes left (i think). It will be interesting to see how it turns out. Jer & SJ came in while that was on, and Ben even strolled in towards the end. We all chilled and had some cookies afterwards and then I hit the sack. Justin and Ben stayed up playing video games until midnight, and the only way I know that is because at about 11:55 they both got really loud and I got pissed. I had to play mom and tell them to be quite or stop playing. Needless to say, Ben left. Sorry man - but I had to get my Zs.

This morning I had a meeting at the Moore School - things are still trucking. I am taking a break from it right now actually. We went to Monterry's for lunch - to celebrate Cinco d'myo (or however you spell it). It was quite tasty. They didnt get my order right though.

The plan for this evening is to work in the yard some more and then watch Idol and I think we might rent Kill Bill vol1 to watch with Jer and SJ. They have not seen it yet.

So, Idol stuff - Last night was actually pretty decent. They did music from the Big Band era. And now that they are down to 5 I am having a tough time picking the bottom 3, so here it goes.... (REMEMBER THIS IS WHAT I THINK AMERICA IS GOING TO DO - not what I think should happen).

Bottom 3 = George, Fantasia, Jasmine

We shall see! See ya --- Gobble Gobble

Yizzo

So, been kinda busy lately. This past weekend Justin and I spent pretty much the entire time working in the yard. We stripped out all of the existing plants in our flower beds and with the help of my parents, we planted all new stuff back. So, we went from having a rather established looking yard to a not so established looking yard. Nevertheless, I like the change. Even yesterday after work Justin and I went home to work on finishing things up. We have 4 barrel planters left to fill, a trellis and plant to get in the ground, and pine bark mulch to spread. Hopefully we will get it done by the weekend. Sunday we are having a bridal shower at out house for some friends. It should be nice.

Tonight one of our old designers (and friends), Ryan, and his wife, Caroline, are suppose to come over for dinner. Justin and I are going to have to scoot home right after work in order to get the house picked up. It will be nice to see them though. We have not talked to them in a good while.

Got a huge deadline with the Moore School on next Tuesday, the 11th. Gonna be tethered to that project all week.

Gonna scoot! Gobble Gobble!
