Monday Savannah Summary

Today started off better than ever. We slept in a little bit, enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast at out hotel, and took on the 7ish block walk to Vanilla Day Spa. The smell on vanilla in the spa was intoxicating, and when I changed into a spa robe I knew it was going to be a good day. The robe was fabulous. (Psst, if you can get your hands on a Vanilla Day Spa robe and want to give it to me for Christmas I would be a very happy turkey.)

First up was the facial. Other than the fact that my technician insisted on talking about child abductors, pedifiles, and mothers that kills their children - it was great. I think the best part was the rosemary/mint lotion that she put on my hands and forearms. The cool part is that it was followed by placing each arm in a plastic bag, and then into a warm damp towel. After the facial when she took my arms out it was like she had re-attached new limbs from the elbow down. Quite nice. The facial felt good as well. I espeically liked the tingly mask. During this time Justin was also getting his facial.

Next up was the sugar cookie scrub. Justin and I got to chat for a few minutes between treatments. I must say it was weird to be as naked as I was in front of a complete stranger. If you know me, you know I am not exactly a slim and fit person. You also probably know I am rather self-concious about that. I did my best just to let it go and enjoy the experience. My technician was great, Cynthia was her name. We chatted a good bit of the time. The scrub felt great and really did smell like sugar cookies. It also had walnuts in it. The warmth of the scrub was very relaxing. When she was done applying the scrub I was wrapped in a bunch of plastic, which was then covered by sheets and then towels. Finally I was topped with 4 hot massage stones to keep me nice a toasty (like a Turkey Taco - burrito more like). Cynthia placed and eyemask on my face and then left me in the dark to (what I call) 'steep.' At first I was kind of clostrophobic, but once I figured out I could wiggle my limbs pretty well and shifted around a little I was out. Event slept for a little bit - sweet! Cynthia returned after about 20 minutes and helped me into the shower where she scrubbed of my back and left me to do the rest. Getting all that stuff off as not easy. It was very sticky. When done though I felt like I could just fall asleep. It was glorious.

Next up Justin and I headed into the couples massage room where Cynthia and Justin's technician Angela proceeded to give us massages that were FAB! I think Justin and I both agreed they were the best we have had. All day I have enjoyed rubbing my smooth skin and smelling the vanilla smell that was infused with my flesh.

I didn't think the day could get any better but, for lunch Justin and I headed down to River Street. We walked around and after asking for some reccommendations we settled on Tubby's Tank House. I swear I had the BEST deviled crab I have EVER had. It was soooo good. I also had some pretty fantastic fried shrimp.

After lunch we walked the rest of River Street and headed back to the hotel. After arriving at the hotel I discovered that I had a voicemail from the office so I tried to call Jen and help out. Problem is we have HORRIBLE cell phone reception in the hotel and quite frankly all around the hotel as well. Justin and I were pretty tired so we hung at the hotel for a good while and then headed to Bass Pro Shop over at Savannah Mall. On the way in Justin saw a billboard and we just hhhhaaaaaaaddddd to go. So, we did. I must say I was quite impressed.

For dinner we hit up VinneVanGoGo's - a killer pizza joint in City Market. It ws stellar pie. The goal for after dinner was to locate Lady & Sons so we could go for dinner there tomorrow night. We did so and then headed down to River Street again.

Ben & Jerry's was for dessert. We enjoyed in on a bench overlooking the Savannah River. It was quite nice. We even made it back to the hotel room in time for Jacked Up.

Must go to bed now though. The plan is to head out at 6:00am to make it down to Miss Judy's Charters in time for our 6:30 departure.

Will be dreaming of fish...
