Fall Break 2005
So, Justin and I arrived in Savannah today. We split from Columbia around 10:30 leaving Vegeta with a heap of foot and extra water, and Gohan in the care on Mike & Mary. We are staying at the Best Western - Historic District should you need to reach us.
After arriving in Savannah around 1:00 we stopped by the hotel to see if we could check-in. No, we had to wait until 3:00. For lunch we headed to The Pirate's House for Sunday Brunch. The lunch buffet was a little pricier than I would have liked, but the food was very good. Especially the honey-pecan glaze for the fried chicken.
From lunch we headed to the City Market to take a historic carraige tour. Our tour guide was quite nice and the tour was enjoyable. By the time that ended we could check in at the hotel. This gave us time to make a game plan for the rest of the day.
In order to take our planned fishing trip on Tuesday Justin and I need Georgia Fishing Licenses. In order to get them we decided Wal-Mart would allow us to kill 2 birds with one stone. 1 - get the licenses 2 - get snacks to carry on the boat. The Wal-mart we located was only 6 miles away and the drive was enjoyable. Problem was that they were out of licenses, so we had to head through Thunderbolt, GA to another Wal-mart. Made for some nice sight seeing. We drove by one of the Paula Deen restaurants, Uncle Bubbas Oyster House.
The trip to Wal-mart put us back at the hotel in time to check some Fantasy Football stats and head out for dinner. After much wandering we ended up at Saigon Restaurant. It was VERY good. I had Thai Garlic with Pork and Justin had some sort of soup. As an appetizer we had their pot stickers, quite nice.
Evening entertainment consisted of The Hauntings tour. It was about an hour and a half walk with ghost stories. Our host, Lilly, was a SCAD student and she did a very nice job. I was slightly confused because some of her historical details differed from those of our earlier tour guide on the historic tour.
Justin serenaded me with humming and such during our walk back to the hotel which was intejected with a stop at the nearby 7-11 so I could grab a razor (poor packing on my part).
Tomorrow we head to Vanilla Day Spa for a massage, sugar cookie scrub, and facial. I am sure it will be glorious.
Time to head to bed though. Will post about tomorrow's details tomorrow evening (obviously).
Byee!
