DCI - Summer Music Games
Last night Justin, Karl, and I were planning to head to Irmo high school for the DCI (Drum Corps International) Summer Music Games. And we did end up going, but we there was a special surprise - Justin's cousing Mary ended up joining us! It was a good time - other than our dinner experience....
So, we knew the concessions at the school would be high, so we decided to stop and grab some fast food on the way. We just about went to Zaxby's but decided it would take too long and went down the street to BoJangles. BAD IDEA! (I'm Feeling Lucky Results) The air conditioning was broken and it took FOREVER to get our order. Mary and I ended up sitting in the car waiting on Karl and Justin to bring out the food (which wasn't right).
After eating we got over to Irmo HS just in time for things to start up. The line-up was as follows:
- Marion Glory Cadets
- Kiwanis Kavaliers
- Colts
- Carolina Crown
- Madison Scouts
- Crossmen
- Phantom Regiment
Phantom Regiment pulled out the win, but I thought the Scouts should have. Crown was great too!
It has been a good while since I have seens good marching band, and I had never seen DCI until last night. But - I did find out something interesting last night. Colleton County High (Walterboro) is back in 4A again, Irmo is down to 4A too. Then with James F. Byrnes and Fort Mill in 4A the marching competition is going to be SUPER tough this year. Just might have to pay attention.
Have a good one. Got to get to work!

Woo!!! Phantom wins. If it were socially acceptable, I would still sport my Phantom Regiment patch.
Boo!!! Bojangles loses. If it were legally acceptable/possible, I would punch Bojangles in the ovaries.
